Fidel Huancas

A third generation coffee farmer, Fidel oversees La Esperanza with the support of his parents. He's one of many Peruvian producers based in the north of the country who are making significant strides in the quality of their coffee, supported by newly-established cooperatives and local export organisations working in the field.

Previously a multi-varietal farm, in recent years Fidel has transitioned to working solely with Yellow Caturra. Focusing on one variety has allowed Fidel to double down on efforts to produce consistently high-scoring coffees, with a focus on upskilling his harvest team to facilitate a truly holistic operation.

This lot exhibits the familiar inherent bright acidity in the Caturra flavour profile, complemented with a juicy texture expedited by the natural post-harvest process.
