Opportunity: Assistant Cafe Manager
What we need
We’re searching for an experienced coffee expert to join the management team across two of our public outlets - Door Coffee Bar and Assembly at Brityard.
This is a key-holder role that will support the Cafe Manager in day-to-day operations of both sites. The ideal candidate will bring with them a balance of advanced coffee making skills, a refined approach to hospitality, and a genuine interest in being a crucial customer touchpoint for the brand.
What you need to have
- Advanced coffee making skills including espresso, filter batch brewing and hand brewing
- A perceptive, empathetic, flexible approach to hospitality
- A high level of attention to detail
- Availability to work in Brixton, South London and Regent’s St, central London
- Availability to work on weekends.
What you'd be responsible for
Staff supervision and training:
- Assisting in hiring, training, and supervising coffee shop staff
- Providing ongoing training and development to ensure staff are knowledgeable and skilled
- Managing staff rotas, ensuring optimal coverage during all shifts.
Customer service:
- Ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered at all times
- Being the face of the brand, communicating the core brand beliefs
- Driving sales of retail coffee through deep knowledge of our coffee catalogue
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers.
Operational management:
- Overseeing daily operations in the absence of the manager
- Assisting in managing inventory, including ordering supplies and tracking stock levels
- Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and organisation of the sites.
Bear in mind
- This role will be split equally between Door Coffee Bar in Brixton and Assembly at Brityard, Regent's Street
- The role is as much a brand ambassador role as it is a cafe management role - you will be a crucial customer touchpoint for the brand
- There will be requirement to work weekends.
