by Assembly 999 Admin
On 1 November 2019, join us at a cupping + presentation + panel discussion at the Assembly roastery.
Speakers: Lorenzo Cosio @kiddocosio (Co-founder El Union) and Silvester Samonte@coffeecatlifestyle (Co-Founder El Union and Ph. Barista Champion 2016 & 18)
The evening is in partnership withCoffee Studies(the industry leading Ted style talks programme of Cafe Culture) and Lorenzo Cosio + Silvester Samonte ofEl Union- multiple competition winners and pioneers of specialty coffee in the Philippines.
Lorenzo and Silvester are in the unique position of being retail roaster operators in north-west Philippines and within commuting distance of coffee producing communities. They're part of a distinctly short supply chain with a unique perspective covering both primary producer and final consumer.
They’re going to be hosting a cupping table with some specialty grade samples from Filippino farmers as well as sharing stories about some of the challenges, successes and community initiatives transitioning from commodity coffee.
A panel hosted by Nick Mabey will then host a group discussion (open to the floor) which dives deeper into topics covered in the presentation.
